Case:

A lighting manufacturer initially wanted to replace an IP67 grommet due to quality concerns.  It turned out that they were also using 2 different versions of IP65 grommets in the products.  All three were of M20 size, but the cable diameters varied greatly.

Solution:

TSS M20 grommet.

Saving:

Replacing the IP65 grommets was initially not an option due to increased costs, however looking at the total product mix it turned out to be cheaper to change all of the existing grommets. Cost saving of 10%

Additionally, the manufacturer also made savings by going from three grommet suppliers to one.  Which resulted in placing fewer orders, less capital tied up in stock, increased stock turn-over.

Total saving from the change has been calculated to 16% (18,700 Euro), plus a reduced number of quality problems & product returns – as a result customer satisfaction has increased.
